Yema Flygraf M2 39mm Pilot Watch Gray Dial
This Yema Flygraf M2 is an elegant tool watch that offers a lot of quality for an attainable price. It has an automatic in house yema movement, the yema 2000, which is an upgraded eta 2824-2. It has a textured gray dial that is brushed and features numerals and hands to mimic old aviation cockpit dials. The lume is phenomenal and legibility is great in the day or at night where it glows blue with bgw9.
It has 42 hours of power reserve. And is typically +/- 10 seconds a day. The case and bracelet are machined from 316L stainless still. The csse is 13mm thick and is that thick because it has an extraordinary 300 meters water resistance which is more than most dive watches. The case is 39mm in diameter with a thick brushed bezel that compliments the dial nicely. The rest of the case is alternately blasted and polished. The crown is signed with a Y for yema and the case back features an embossed design.The crown is protected from knocks by crown guards and is a screw down crown to achieve the high water resistance. The dial also features 13-24 hour markings similar to a field watch. The watch is extremely tasteful and versatile and offers a great alternative to other pilot watches.
It is an impressive example of french design and engineering. The watch comes with the original box and papers, and comes on a metal H link bracelet but also includes a leather lined canvas strap. The bracelet clasp features a divers extension and is a fold over clasp.The extension along with 4 microadjust holes and drilled lugs make any adjustments easy to fine tune to your preferred fit and wrist size. The lug width is 19mm. However 20 mm perlon or nato straps will fit fine. The yema bracelet features male endlinks so bit will wear bigger.
If you put the watch on a 19mm mesh strap, or a 2 piece strap, it becomes better suited to smaller wrists. Bulkier straps actually suit the watch better because they offset the heft of the head of the watch. The alternate polishing catches light beautifully and the neutral gray make the watch easy to wear with different clothes or In a variety of settings. After a couple of owners and some light wear, it is not perfect and has some small scratches. But I hope it finds a good new home because it certainly merits one.
