VINTAGE WWII era 34 mm men's LONGINES PILOT MILITARY AWARD WRISTWATCH 1942-1951

MOVEMENT : Original signed Longines high quality 17 jewel wind up Swiss mechanical with "Inca-Bloc", hand winding. CASE : Stainless steel RARE restored case, signed Longines ref. Metal dial in good condition restored. SIZE : 34.5 mm (not counting the crown), 43 mm long (lugs to lugs).

BAND : new, nylon 18 mm. Check out my see video. This unique watch was kept till our time in good condition. Any defects not mentioned but visible in the pictures will be considered as described.

A LITTLE HISTORY: Longines is a luxury watch company based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832, it is owned by the Swatch Group. Longines is known for its "Aviators" range of watches. A company director was a friend of Charles Lindbergh; after his transatlantic flight, Lindbergh designed a pilot watch to help with air navigation. Built to his specifications, it is still produced today.

With the start of the counterattack of the Soviet army, "trophy teams" began to operate in its units, following in the wake of the attacking units. Watches collected by such teams entered the award fund.

Watches often turned out to be more valuable gifts than medals of military valor.
