UKRAINE PARATROOPER PILOTS WATCH c. 1987 LIKE NEW 17 JEWELS DATE WINDOW. This has a swiss type premium 17 jewel movement with sweep second hand. Not to be confused with imitation quartz movements-this is a premium movement with 17 jewels. The jewels are used to reduce friction and increase the life of the watch. There are three types of jewels used in these types of watches. They are either diamonds, rubies or sapphires. It is believed that this watch is waterproof to a degree, but unverified. There is a cap that unscrews which allows for winding or if pulled father out for time/date adjustment.
