Rare 1960s Vintage Tanus Pilot Military Automatic Swiss Army Watch Uhr Orologio

Rare Vintage Tanus Pilot Swiss Army Military Automatic. Rare Swiss Army issue 1960's Tanus Pilot automatic in very good condition with date; watch only with 2 straps, no box or papers.

Green resin fibre square case face measures 32 x 32 mms, 37 wide at base and 42 lug-to-lug and 14 mms thick. Case back is solid, access to the movement is via 4 screws at case-front (see nick in resin bezel at 1 o'clock). Acrylic face over silver dial with dark green outer hrs/minutes markers with light green numerical inner markers. Dark/light green hour/minute hands with large central orange seconds hand; date window at 3 o'clock.

Powered by Swiss automatic 21 jewel movement that keeps accurate time. 24 mms lugs currently house a new single piece zulu strap with brass loops and buckle (pictured). Also supplied is the original matching green ribbed plastic 2-piece strap that tapers to 16 mms at green double pin buckle. The watch is Swiss Army model 488 and is marked'shock-resistant'.
