Produced from 1948 all the way through until the 80's, it was used by RAF initially, then the FAA and in 1950 began being used by our very own RAAF here in Australia. This watch was introduced as a limited edition of 1948 pieces in 2017 as a tribute to that original Mark XI. The case is 40mm and made in steel with a brushed finish.
It houses a black dial with creamy luminous markers at 3,6,9 and 12 as well as on the hands. A discreet date window lies at 3. It is powered by the IW3551 (Sellita SW-300), and comes equipped on the most magnificent leather and canvass nato strap - which IWC does better than just about anyone. Has clearly been worn, and the case and bezel show scratches and dings throughout. AR coating on the crystal shows scratching, and a small mark near 5.
