IWC watch pilot top gun. Bought new in Switzerland directly from IWC.

Now with me here in California, USA. Fully certified servicing completed in Switzerland in Nov 2019 (through the IWC Schaffhausen Costa Mesa Boutique, Bristol Street #2881, Costa Mesa, California). The watch was sent to the IWC Service Center in Switzerland, inspected, oiled and cleaned as necessary and reassembled.

I'm slightly undervaluing this relative to other similar listings because the strap is not an original IWC strap. Note that the buckle IS the original IWC buckle.

During tortuous manoeuvres involving supersonic jets like the F/A-18, pilots are subjected to high g forces. But also extended missions on aircraft carriers, where they are exposed to the humid, salt-bearing sea air, put an enormous strain on both personnel and material. The TOP GUN Chronograph was developed using robust and corrosion-resistant materials such as ceramic and titanium for the elite among the US Navy's jet pilots. For the first time ever, IWC has equipped this classic with an in-house movement from the 69000-calibre family. Apart from its stopwatch function, the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre also has displays for the day and date. The red small seconds hand at "9 o'clock" provides a striking colourful highlight on the black dial. The case is made of-non-reflective black zirconium oxide ceramic, the back of the case from titanium. The watch is attached to the wrist with a black textile strap. Movements from the 69000-calibre family are used in all IWC watches that require a precise, robust and high-performance chronograph movement. The chronograph is a classic column-wheel design and takes the energy it needs from a bidirectional pawl-winding system similar to the Pellaton mechanism. The dial contains three subdials: one for the hour counter at "9 o'clock", one for the minute counter at "12 o'clock" and one for the small seconds at "6 o'clock". Movements in this calibre family have a frequency of 4 hertz (28,800 beats per hour) and a power reserve of 46 hours.
